And So...

...another shoe has dropped. I was asked to not to be a part of children's Sunday School anymore at our church. It hurts, I was really enjoying my time with the kids.

Also, in the same meeting, we were told it would be best if we left.
What if what they (the elders) think is best (or what would be so much less painful for us) isn't what God has us to do?

What happened to being a church family and working things out?

What about holding leadership to the same accountability as the congregation?

What about, "I solemnly charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by His appearing and His kingdom: preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction."?????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why can you partner with other denominations and the city and yet ask us to go away????

We're not staying because we hate you or are out to get you or want to make you look bad (don't we all look awful when held up against Him??)
We're staying there because we love you and truly desire the glory of God to be the thing that causes your hearts to be joyful and that He would be the center of all that you do!

If any of you dear blog readers would like a more eloquent and God-centered update, you can read my hubby's post here: http://jsbolt.wordpress.com/about/life-and-ministry/

I'd also love to hear your thoughts...there's not been a person out there so far who has thought it a "good idea" we stay.

if God is calling you to stay than you should stay. Period.

But wow- I don't think I could handle it if I were you.

You guys sure are having a rough go of things lately. Praying.

I would suggest not to follow your heart. As it is said in Genesis 6:5 "Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually."
As well as Romans 7:18 "For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells; for to will is present with me, but how to perform what is good I do not find. For the good that I will to do, I do not do; but the evil I will not to do, that I practice."

Following your heart can be a very dangerous thing, especially when emotions are running high, and your heart is breaking.
I do agree, however to pray. Pray and ask the Lord to reveal to you what is His will.

Follow your heart???! Why don't you just jump of a cliff? Same thing. The heart of a man is EVIL!!! Sara, you know better what the truth is...

Trust me commenters, I'm not one to follow my heart. Jer. 17: 5-10 is something I agree with wholeheartedly.
You didn't answer the question though Maks, should we stay?

It is not my question to answer, you know that. And I don't want to discuss this matter in public for your sake.

Obviously I don't know you, and I don't know your whole situation. I read your husbands blog, and I'm still not clear on what is going on. I know church leaders are not perfect. Having said that- here's what I wonder- are there some wise elders (men and women) who can advise you? I wonder too that you trusted the pastor when he brought you on board, but you don't trust what is going on now- has something changed?

It concerned me that your husband had a link to something about Billy Graham that based on other things I have heard about him was completely out of context. (Now, I'm pretty much a universalist so you may choose to just disregard what I'm saying). But my point is to be discerning.
Blessings on you at any rate. I hope you are given much wisdom in this situation.
I chose to comment on your blog about things your husband said on his because you and I are the ones with the bloggy relationship, and you directed us to his post.

Thanks for the further explanations. It sounds like a very frustrating situation. I'd encourage you to find wise elders- not designated church elders, but people who are old in the faith- that will listen to what you are saying and respond to that.
blessings.
