The Dark Ages

Was up at 3:45 AM today to start the flying standby circus in a successful trip to Montana. I was sitting around chatting with my parents, feeling so in my element (in a good way), when my grandparents showed up to squash it.

I don't know what it is about these people and their dismissive tones...their scoffing at any intelligence coming from my parents or I. Ugh!!! I love them, but I can't stand them. And to see them attempt to quell my parenting at belittle my kids free spirits...I don't think so.

Man, I wish coming to my childhood home were easier.

  1. family are often the most difficult people we have to deal with. The fact that we love them makes it all the more hurtful.
